Step 1: Know Your Online Poker
Online Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, usually without the Joker cards but is some games Joker cards are used.
There are a number of variations of Poker that can be found in online casinos however, the standard types of Poker are; Stud Poker and Draw. The rules for these two types of Poker are very similar.
When playing Stud Poker each player receives 5 cards from the dealer however, in some games a player can also be dealt 7 cards. A player then looks at the hand they have been dealt and wagers chips according to the hand. The player who wagers the most chips will win the game unless another player matches the bet made. In this case the players left in the game will reveal their cards and the one with the best hand wins the chips.
Draw Poker is very similar, each of the players are dealt 5 cards, then the betting begins. The players left in the game can try to improve their hands by trading up to three cards to get three new cards. A player is allowed to trade all four cards if the player has an Ace.
