Sky Betting has recently announced that they have decided to open their doors to the game developers of the future by running a graduate software academy. The total value of this Leeds-based operation is a staggering £1.5 million, which will see roughly twenty five fresh young minds joining the ranks of the gaming development world as of July 2016. The first fourteen weeks are made up of a high intensity boot camp in which learners will be introduced to the various Sky Betting methodologies. In this they will also be given classes which will aid in sharpening their business skills. Thereafter, they will be introduced to the various tribes within Sky Betting & Gaming;
They will circulate within these sections for the remaining nine months. Thereafter, all candidates will be assigned a permanent position within one of the four Sky Bet Tribes. During their twelve months spent within the academy, the candidates will be paid a competitive full-time salary.
Sky Betting & Gaming CTO, Andy Burton recently stated: “By investing in graduates now we hope to play our part in ensuring there’s a pipeline of tech talent in Yorkshire. I look forward to welcoming the first grads in the summer.”
Sky Betting has also announced that a similar program will be launched within the next few weeks in which candidates will be focusing on the commercial aspects as opposed to technological side of the company.
