N’Golo Kante Reaches Euro 2016 Final

25-year-old was part of the France team that reached the Euro 2016 final. The midfielder is Chelsea’s second signing after striker Michy Batshuayi joined the club from Marseille.

Commenting on his move, Kante told the media that he’s so happy to have signed for one of the biggest teams in Europe. For him, it’s a dream come true. He further stated that it is a great opportunity to work with a brilliant manager like Antonio Conte, and some of the world’s best players.

Leicester Receives a Record Fee

The Foxes said in a statement on Friday, 15 July 2016, that it was Kante’s obvious wish to join Chelsea despite the offer of a significantly improved and long-term contract. Leicester has accepted a club-record fee of £30 million last week Friday.

In the meantime, Conte lost his first game when Rapid Vienna beat them 2-0 in a friendly game. Chelsea took a strong side captained by John Terry, and including:

  • Diego Costa
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek
  • Willian
  • Nemanja Matic
  • Branislav Ivanovic

Technical Director at Chelsea, Michael Emenalo, described Kante as a fantastic signing for the club with extraordinary quality.
