According to Monday Night Football guests Ronald Koeman and Jamie Carragher think Manchester City and Arsenal are out of the Premier League competition following Leicester’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle.
Leicester City moved five points ahead of rivals Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and thanks to Shinji Okazaki who scored an overhead kick in the 25th-minute against Newcastle. With just eight games remaining, their victory moved Claudio Ranieri’s side 11 points ahead of Arsenal and 12 points clear of Man City.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman insisted both Man City and Arsenal are out of the league after Leicester’s win. He further said it will be a title fight between Leicester and Spurs. In his opinion, that’s the difference between before and after this result.
Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher agreed with Koeman, saying both Man City and Arsenal are not in good form to challenge Leicester and Spurs. He further added by saying it’s not only about the points, it’s about how those teams are playing and they have not been playing very well. The gap point is now far and there’s too much for them to do, he added.
Koeman is no stranger to winning titles. During his time in football, he won 11 league titles, eight as a player and three as a manager.
Manchester City V Manchester United match will take place on March 20, 2016, 3:30pm
