Australia lost against England in third ODI after James Taylor reached his century. beating Australia by 93-runs at Emirates Old Trafford.
Taylor secured the England innings with 101, accumulating 119-runs with England captain Eoin Morgan as they went on to win 300-8. Before Taylor makes his appearance, Jason Roy had already made 63-runs.
Australia was bowled out for 207-runs in 44 overs after Aaron Finch fell for 53-runs. Adil Rashid 2 – 41 and Moeen Ali took 3 – 32. Australia lead the series 2 – 1.
Before Taylor struck his first boundary, he had already scored 42 and struck only five innings. After reaching three figures in the second last over, he fell with four balls remaining.
If Australia had made through, it would have been the record winning ODI run chase at Emirates Old Trafford. But the hosts seemed to be in control as soon as Rashid took the critical wickets of Australian captain, Steve Smith and Finch.
“Taylor played marvellously, it was an exceptional performance. Though the wicket became hard to play on, but Taylor adapted wonderfully.” – Morgan said.
If England could organize another win at Headingley on Friday, they will set up a series decider on this ground.
