New Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan is hoping to be fit for the Manchester City derby against Manchester United on the 10th September 2016. The German international completed a £21m move from Borussia Dortmund to Man-City last month and became the first signing of the new coach, Pep Guardiola.
The 25-year-old, who dislocated his knee-cap earlier this year in May, said he was happy that the new coach Guardiola still wanted him in the club despite his injury and he can’t wait to get back to the Premier League.
Gündoğan told Sky Sports News HQ that their target is the end of August with the derby on September 10 2016. It’s difficult to say now if he will be fit, but there is a strong possibility. He added that the important thing is to be safe and at the moment, everything is going well with the rehab and he’s looking forward to being back on the field.
