The world’s largest Internet betting exchange, Betfair Group plc, has announced it has extended its existing partnership with Arsenal FC until 2019. Under the terms of the partnership, the gambling operator will become an official betting partner for the English Premier League football club in Europe, United Kingdom, Central and South America.
How will Betfair Group benefit from the partnership?
- The club will offer the gambling operator extra branding at fixtures that will be played at the Emirates Stadium, England.
- The gambling operator will have access to first-team players to establish marketing and promotional activities.
- Betfair will be granted the opportunity to utilise Arsenal’s online and social media channels to reach the club’s large fan base.
Commenting on the partnership, Paul Gambrill, Betfair Marketing and Brand Director at Peddy Power, said they are really happy with the partnership extension with Arsenal following a successful first season with the club. Mr. Gambrill further added that Arsenal is a great club and they look forward to engaging with the club’s supporters again for the upcoming season.
Arsenal Chief Commercial Officer, Vinai Venkatesham, added they are very pleased to be continuing their partnership with the gambling operator after a successful partnership to date.
In February earlier this year, Betfair finalised its merging deal with gambling operator Paddy Power. Their combined business worth has been valued at £6 billion. Last month, its first quarterly results showed a revenue increase of 16% to reach £339 million.
