Formula 1
FIA confirms German Grand Prix has been dropped from calendar  The German Grand Prix has been dropped from this year’s Formula One calendar. The race had been in doubt owing to questions over which circuit would host the race, which has been shared between Hockenheim and Nürburgring in recent seasons.
Fernando Alonso has testing time to be fit for Malaysia F1 Grand Prix  Fernando Alonso will learn on Sunday whether he has a chance of making his first appearance of the season in Malaysia next Sunday. The McLaren driver, who missed the opening race in Australia a week ago after suffering concussion in testing in Barcelona last month, will be tested by three FIA-appointed specialists at the University of Cambridge.

Serena Williams vows to return to Indian Wells after pulling out injured

Serena Williams withdrew before her semi-final at Indian Wells on Friday night with a sprained right knee, 14 years after her sister Venus did the same thing and triggered an angry reaction from fans that drove Serena to boycott the tournament.
