888Poker has announced that three of the company’s female Ambassadors will contest a ‘Queens Clash’ tag match at 888Live King’s Festival.
Taking a leaf out of the WWE’s book, the tag match seems bound to add numbers to the event’s live stream.
New signing to host King’s Casino coverage
Taking place in Rozvadov in the Czech Republic from now until 6th February, King’s Festival is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest events.
Those set to take part include Parker Talbot who recently joined the company in an ambassadorial capacity. Widely considered the future of poker, ‘tonkaaaap’ is a Twich sensation with some 80,000 fans.
But while Talbot will be in the commentary booth, the ‘Queen’s Clash’ is set to pit Joanna Kwak, Anna Wegscheider and Oanh Bui against 888Poker Ambassadors Kara Scott, Sofia Lovgren and Natalie Hof in a special best of three team format match.
Each game will feature a different star, but over the three games, the teams have four timeouts where a team strategy can take place. Each match has a 5,000 starting stack, 15-minute blind levels, a two-minute shot clock, and 10-minute time bank.
The winning team will receive a $1,000 entry into the Ladies Championships at the 48th Annual World Series of Poker.
Queen’s Clash contest based on Unibet idea
As for the inspiration for the contest, it would appear to have its origins in the Unibet Open.
Indeed, the Swedish-based operator staged a Ladies Battle Royale as part of their Unibet Open Bucharest festivities. A bit hit, it’ll be interesting to see whether 888Poker’s venture will enjoy similar success.
