Gamblers Spend More On Online Betting

The statics released by the Gambling Commission show that more gamblers wagered on online casino games, such as bingo and sports betting, than the Nation Lottery. Online betting accounts for a third of the money British players lost on fixed odds betting terminals, which includes games such as Roulette.

Campaigns Call for Gamblers to Spend Less

Some campaigners have called for a change in policy to reduce the money players can spend on Fixed Odds Betting Terminals. Currently the maximum that players can spend on these betting machines is £100. These groups are calling for the limit to be decreased to £2. This is due to the fact that these betting terminals are allegedly highly addictive and linked to gambling problems. In 2016 one gambling operator paid a fine of £280, 000 after it was found guilty by the Gambling Commission of encouraging a problem gambler to continue to gamble. It is alleged that the man mostly played Fixed Odds Betting Terminals.

How to Over Come a Gambling Problem

If you notice that you have a problem controlling your gambling habits, you might have a gambling problem. It is advised that you look for help from organisations who help with problem gambling. The first step would be to inform your online casino so that they can put some kind of restrictions on your account to help you overcome your problem.
