Prairie Flower Casino

Following an expansion project concluded in February 2025, the Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake, Iowa, expanded to a size 7 times that of its previous facility, which remains adjacent to the newly constructed building. Although the project was initially planned for completion in summer 2024, supply chain issues caused by the pandemic resulted in construction delays.

Previously occupying 9,500 square feet, the new casino now offers 70,000 square feet of Las Vegas-style gaming. The number of gaming positions has also risen significantly, with the quantity of slots and video machines increasing from 200 to 600. The casino has introduced electronic table games, a sportsbook, and broadened its dining and beverage offerings.

Owned and operated by the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, this establishment is merely a 5-minute drive from Downtown Omaha. The tribe is already in the early stages of planning the second phase of development, which could potentially feature a larger casino housing 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games, and a 150-room hotel.
