The World Poker Tour will host this year’s poker and golf Tiger Jam. The event at the MGM Grand takes place on 19th-20th May and will raise funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Speaking of the golfing great, he will be on hand to play a round as well as a few hands.

Phil Hellmuth to host Tiger’s Poker Night

While the golf is scheduled for the morning of 19th May, Tiger’s Poker Night will take place that evening. Fourteen-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth (below) will serve as emcee.

According to the event organisers TGR Live, the poker tournament will have a player card, with the buy-in being $11,000. Besides having the opportunity to sit across the table from Tiger, players will also take on the WPT team of Lyn Gilmartin, Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten. Daniel Negreanu, Maria Ho and Antonion Esfandiari will also be on hand.

Has Woods swung his last wood?

The weekend will culminate with a number of live and silent auctions and an ACURA-arranged pool party.

Needless to say, the appeal of the event is boosted by the fact that Woods is clearly drawing to the end of his playing career. Indeed, after a series of back injuries, one wonders whether Tiger will ever swing a club in anger again.
