Cloverdale Rancheria Resort and Casino

The Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians is set to develop a casino resort in Sonoma County. Named the Cloverdale Rancheria Resort and Casino, this facility will be situated on a tract of over 70 acres near Asti Road, strategically positioned between Highway 101 and the Russian River, at the southern boundary of Cloverdale, California. Partnering with Sealaska, an Alaska Native corporation, the tribe anticipates a project cost of $320 million. This casino resort is projected to present significant advantages, including job creation in the local community and financial gains for both the city and county.

The tribe’s land-into-trust application received approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and was documented in the Federal Register.

The planned resort will boast a hotel, casino, convention centre, event centre and additional facilities. The hotel will span over 280,000 square feet, offering 244 guest rooms, alongside amenities such as a spa, swimming pool and an expansive parking lot with 3,400 spaces. The convention centre is designed to facilitate events of varying sizes. The event centre next to the casino will host a range of non-gaming activities, including local and regional theatre as well as musical performances.

The casino itself will occupy an area exceeding 80,000 square feet, housing 2,000 state-of-the-art electronic gaming machines and 45 live table games, featuring blackjack, roulette, and various poker formats.

At present, the Cloverdale Rancheria is preparing for upcoming public hearings as they progress through the different environmental stages of the Environmental Impact Statement, with the aim of commencing construction on the project.
