Manchester United and England striker, Wayne Rooney, has been offered £75 million to join former England manager, Sven Goran Eriksson in the Chinese Super League (CSL). China’s league want the 30-year-old Man United and England striker to become their poster boy and they are prepared to give him an incredible three year contract worth up to £25 million per season if he leaves Man United to join Eriksson.
If Rooney decides to leave Man United for China’s league, he would be playing for Shanghai SIPG who are managed by Eriksson. The Chinese Super League are also interested in Chelsea skipper John Terry. The Major League Soccer in America have also showed interest in Rooney, but are not willing to offer Rooney the same sort of eye watering money that CSL is willing to offer him.
Rooney announced that he will make a decision after Euro 2016. Currently, he remains central to England’s and Man United’s plans, but summer could bring a major change in his football career path.
This season, Rooney has failed to grow under Louis van Gaal’s management and Shanghai could use this to their advantage knowing that he has three years remaining on his present contract with the Old Trafford side. The question now on everybody’s lips is:
Will Rooney join Eriksson?
