The business plan and final design for the proposed Tiverton Casino by Twin River Management Group, Tiverton, has been presented to the Town Council. If the new casino proposal is approved, Tiverton Casino promises to return $3M in gaming revenue for the town, therefore introducing a roundabout job creation system.
Six months ago, Twin River management Group began its mission to move the Newport Grand Slot Parlor’s business next to the state boarder with Massachusetts. On Monday, a public outreach campaign was conducted where by the company had community meetings that required public input. It all started as an idea pitched to US taxpayers with no design plans. During public and community meetings, public input was shaped into the detailed plan, together with a fly-through video and pictures showing the new round about entrance of the Tiverton Casino, cars driving in and out and players celebrating their payouts.
Twin River Chairman, John Taylor Jr. said the roundabout is crucial for the feasibility of the project. “If the roundabout on Canning Boulevard with a dedicated turn lane into the property is not constructed, we will not open,” He added.
The company promised the town $3M annually from table games and slots games revenue. The overall project investment is estimated at a cost of $75M, a maximum of 600 jobs will be created with Newport Grand existing employees offered positions.
