South Africa Secures A Massive Win Over India

South Africa claimed the One Day International (ODI) series by crushing India by 214-runs in the fifth and final one day international in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium, winning the series by 3-2. Proteas won the toss and opted to bat first. They accumulated a massive 438/4 after 50 overs and credit goes to Faf du Plessis (133), Quinton De Kock (109) and AB De Villiers (119) who scored thrilling centuries to rip out the heart of the host nation India.

South Africa Breaks the Record

This is the first time South Africa have won a one-day series in India. The South African captain, De Villiers, who holds the fastest ODI record with 31 balls, now has scored 700-runs in 75 balls. This is also the first time South Africa hit third highest centuries in an ODI to win against India.

In the 36th over, India were already out for 244-runs, making this their second hardest ODI defeat. Hashim Amla and Man Of The Match De Kock opened with a scorching stand of 33-runs with 25 balls. Amla scored 5 boundaries from 13 balls before he was caught by MS Dhoni. Du Plessis and De Kock partnership smashed 154-runs from 139 balls. De Kock hit a tired-looking stroke to Kohli Virat after 17 boundaries. Du Plessis was dropped on 45 and 85 after hitting 6 sixes and 9 fours. He was forced to retire 133 off after struggling with a cramp.

South Africa and India now prepare for the four match series which will begin on the 5th November 2015.
