PokerStars ambassador Liv Boree co-hosted the Red Bull Escape Room World Championships in Budapest.
Among the most prominent female poker players on the circuit, Boree shared the hosting duties with DJ and TV presenter Alex Zane.
Red Bull’s association with poker dates back to the 1990s when they were the sole company that replied when the Hendon Mob sought sponsorship ahead of their Poker Million appearance. The energy drink manufacturers said ‘no’ on that occasion. Twenty years on, the hiring of Boree suggests that the firm has undergone a change in attitude.
The Red Bull Escape Room World Championships was broadcast on Red Bull TV. The tournament was designed by Carole Salvi who holds a PHD in Cognitive Neuroscience. The games she created brought to mind the puzzles that melted contestants minds on The Adventure Game and The Crystal Maze.
Being something of a science buff, it’s easy to understand why the tournament intrigued the Kent-born Boree.
And while she’s estimated to have earned over £3 million playing poker, the move into presenting might yet create another highly lucrative revenue stream for her.
With the likes of CalvinAyre and igamingbusiness complementing her mic work, Boree could yet swap the poker room for the green room full-time.
