The 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant tournament has ended with Greg Himmelbrand coming out as top dog. Professional poker player, Himmelbrand from Queens, New York, collected the first prize of $36 899 and the second gold ring of his career.
Sharing the joy on Twitter, Himmelbrand tweeted by saying “We ship! $37k n a 2nd ring. Deep run in the main should lock us casino champ pretty sure we’re top 3-5 now”
The one-day $580 No-Limit Hold’em tournament had 314 entrants who created a prize of $157 00. The top thirty three placing players received payouts, with the lowest on this list receiving $937 each. The nine-handed final table took about 10 hours of play to finish where Himmelbrand emerged as the winner.
At the beginning of the final table, Himmelbrand was short stack but his dedication helped him defeat Nebraska, Elkhorn and Michael Milan. Including the 2015/16 WOP Circuit Choctaw Durant victory, Himmelbrand’s total earnings from Circuit events now amount to more than $200 000.
With two more gold ring tournaments on the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant programme, will Himmelbrand surprise us with another win? The $1 675 Main Event will kick-off tonight and Ring Event #12 will kick-off on 17 January 2016 at the Casino de Marrakech in Morocco.
