Floyd Mayweather retires after his win over Andre Berto on Saturday

Floyd Mayweather won again to keep hold of his WBA and WBC welterweight titles in what he states was his goodbye bout. 38 year old Mayweather played with Berto for 12 rounds with the Florida-born contender hardly testing the WBA and WBC welterweight champion.

He was capable of trashing him in the ring, dancing around to mimic him and also rejoiced before the end of the short period. It was a dazzling display of ring skill as Mayweather produced yet more records.

Breaking Records and Taking a Bow

Mayweather looked magnificent as he matched Rocky Marciano’s 49 fight undefeated record. But Mayweather restated his desire to retire from boxing after what felt like a festive night to mark the end of his career.

He declared that he had a hand injury during his fight, but it doesn’t make a difference if he hurt his left or right hand. His boxing career is over and it’s official.

Mayweather Says His Last Goodbyes

Mayweather has been a noisy mouth all the way through his career, but he has forever conveyed the performances to fit the tout. Berto could have been the last man to get a chance to defeat Mayweather, but the undefeated great stood firm through the last fight and now shall gracefully take his final bow.

Mayweather is a champion at five different weights and has won 12 world titles from super-featherweight to light-middleweight. And in his own, questionably humble words “I am the best, I am the best at boxing”.
