Four goals from Newcastle striker, Georginio Wijnaldum helped them win their first league match of this season by beating Norwich 6-2 at St James’ Park. There was a huge amount of thrilling entertainment in the first half when Newcastle’s five shots resulted in five astonishing goals. Winjnaldum opened the scoring before Dieumerci Mbokani of Norwich leveled the score, making it 1-1.
After half time, Norwich tried everything to beat Steve McClaren’s side, but somehow Aleksandar Mitrovic managed to score a fourth goal, before Wijnaldum completed his magic by scoring the sixth goal to make for a thrilling win.
Newcastle moves up, Norwich drops
The Premier League results show Newcastle move up to the 18th position and Norwich drop to 16th on the leader-board. Next week Newcastle will clash with arch rivals Sunderland in a decisive Wear-Tyne derby.
Should Sunderland be wary of Newcastle?
Sunderland will have to be very careful of Wijnaldum and his team mates. Eight goals in one match is the most they have seen in any Premier League match this season. Wijnaldum was awarded man of the match after scoring four thrilling goals in Newcastle’s 6-2 victory over Norwich. We are not surprised by this; this striker has proved to be a true asset to the team.
