John Stewart positively seems to be enjoying his early retirement. The former legendary host of The Daily Show got his body slammed inside the ring on a live WWE broadcast on Monday Night Raw.
John Stewart’s Involvement Within the WWE
Stewart, now 52, is a longtime pro wrestling fan who hosted WWE SummerSlam event over the weekend. On Sunday, Stewart went to the ring during the match between United States Champion John Cena and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and hit Cena with a folding chair, leading to Rollins walking away with both titles after the match.
Is Sabotage Afoot?
Stewart returned to Monday Night Raw to explain himself. He said that he wasn’t helping Rollins to win the match but he couldn’t let Cena tie Ric Flair’s record of 16-time World Champion. Cena would have reached his mark if he won the match.
A Little too Late for John Stewart
Stewart apologized and tried to convince Cena to wrestle Rollins again to win back the belt, but Cena answered by saying that he understands, so he knows that Stewart will also understand what he is going to do because it has to be done.
Cena grabbed Stewart, put him across his shoulders for “Attitude Adjustment” move and slammed him in the middle of the ring.
Stewart, sooner or later, Ric Flair’s record will be broken.
