Any gambler who truly wants to do well at the tables knows that the best way to ensure this is to have some sort of gambling guide or strategy guide to help you make some of your decisions. These games are still random and anything can happen, so using one of these guides is no guarantee for success, but it can certainly help improve your odds a little.
The guides can come in a number of different forms, from really simple guides that advise you on how to bet when you’re winning or losing, to more advanced guides that’ll help you make more complicated decisions as the game progresses.
The Gambling Guide Creation Process
While it cannot be overstated how important these gambling guides can be, have you ever stopped to consider the amount of effort that goes into some of them? For some games it isn’t too bad as the guide can be a little bit simpler. For something like Blackjack the author or creator of the gambling guide may not have to work too hard to come up with a decent strategy.
However, for something like poker, the sheer effort required for some of the poker variants out there is astronomical. I was recently reading into a guide for a Double Double Bonus Progressive Poker game and it’s easy to see why there hasn’t been a comprehensive guide for this particular game.
The work is painstaking as you’d need to identify all the turning points and when it is better to hold onto cards that might give you a Royal Flush, or discard them and go for a more realistic win. Being a progressive video poker game makes things even more complicated, because the jackpot has to factor into your guide. If the full jackpot is small, it may not be worth trying to win it, but if it is really big, you may want to advise your players to go for the Royal Flush and snag the big bucks.
Reading into how much effort would need to be devoted to creating this single guide was really eye opening for me, so I think we all need to be a little more thankful for those gambling guides out there that are already helping us win.
