Aston Villa Suspends Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor

Aston Villa, who have suffered a relegation from the Premier League, have suspended striker Gabriel Agbonlahor. According to the reports, on the same night Villa were relegated, the 29-year-old striker was allegedly photographed with laughing gas canisters in London.

Agbonlahor who was told he was not strong enough, was already on the side-lines. Agbonlahor was suspended earlier this month by Villa after he was photographed holding a Marra pipe while in Dubai, but the club did not take further action.

The club was relegated from the Premier League after a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United on Saturday at Old Trafford. They found themselves sitting on the bottom of the log after collecting only 16 points from 34 games.

Villa, who reached the FA Cup final last season, is also left without a manager following the resignation of Rémi Garde and other two key resignations. A former Governor of the Bank of England and former Football Association chairman David Bernstein, both left the board on Monday.

Agbonlahor scored only one goal of the season in February

Agbonlahor, who reportedly earns £50,000 a week, has scored only one goal this season. Villa lost two key players in the summer, Fabian Delph who moved to Manchester City for £8million and striker Christian Benteke who was signed by Liverpool for £32.5million.

Villa, who won their first Premier League match, did not win any match until January this year under former club manager Tim Sherwood.
