Tickets to watch Leicester’s final home game are sold out in 90 minutes for £15,000 a pair on Monday. The Premier League leaders Leicester City needs only three victories from their remaining five matches to be crowned the Premier League Champions.
Individual tickets were being sold for more than £3,000 each. Commenting on the ticket sales, Leicester City said the illegal sale of football tickets is a criminal offence in the United Kingdom, it will take action against anyone who tries to resell tickets above actual value or any ticket touting and it encourages all fans to report any such activity to the club.
Leicester City Lead the Leader Board
Leicester, who are seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur F.C, have already guaranteed Champions League football with only three victories to secure the title.
Before the final game against Everton on 7 May 2016, Leicester will face West Ham and Swansea, then Manchester United.
One Leicester fan spoke to BBC Sport and said, he had missed out on ticket sales on Monday. Now he won’t be able to be there to celebrate when Leicester wins the title. He concluded by saying there will be lots of questions the club will have to answer and he can’t see how ordinary fans could afford £15,000 for a pair of tickets – this is a price of a pre-owned car.
