Chief Marketing Officer of gambling provider Ladbrokes Australia, James Burnett, announced he has stepped down as CMO of the company. He served three years as the CMO after it introduced its sports betting services in Australia in 2013.
Mr. Burnett will be succeeded by Simon Jarvis. Mr Jarvis has previously been General Manager of Marketing at Australis College. He also served at a number of marketing agencies including CM, BMF and Draft FCB London.
After successfully serving as the CMO at the company for the past three years, Mr. Burnett announced he will be taking a short-break before pursuing new career opportunities. He had been in the role for the past three years and was instrumental in the launching of the Ladbrokes brand to the Australian gambling market.
Mr Burnett joined Ladbrokes Australia when it was still Gaming Investments, afterwards, the company was purchased by the UK gaming and sports betting giant.
The Cockney-Accented Voice-Over by Jamie Kristian Boosted the Ladbrokes Image
Ladbrokes Casino became popular after its popular marketing campaign featuring a cockney-accented voice-over. “The use of a cockney actor Jamie Kristian in the campaign and advertisements feature, was welcomed with polarising responses, but eventually proved to be correct,” – Mr. Burnett said.
He further said Kristian gave them a unique voice in a cluttered market and the target audience of men aged between 18 and 35 loved him.
Among other things, Mr. Burnett was also involved in the launch of the Ladbrokes VISA card as well as the launch of a cash-in facility Blueshfyt company.
